Today when every morning we get exposed to another terrorist attack.. We hear of families murdering their own children because they dared to love someone who is Human but not from the same caste or religion.. Bombs, nuclear weapons, castes, religions, boundaries; are all created by the humankind for what reason I don’t know but I am assuming that it is done so for everyone’s benefit, happiness.. That’s why we have divisions in school, departments in offices; so that everyone does their part and it’s easier to function that way. But how about doing your part and not thinking that the other is inferior, not thinking that that someone is OTHER. When we say ‘Other’ we tend to differentiate, we start separating ourselves and living in our own shell which limits our own thinking, our horizons, it doesn’t let us live like a free bird who has no boundaries, but just one big open space so as to fly, fly higher and higher.
And during these times, I see this man wearing a white Dhoti Kurta, at one of the busiest signals in Mumbai, with a white board which reads ‘Apne Dharam par chalo, Sabse prem karo’ (walk on your path of duties, love everybody) .. I noticed him smile at all those on the bikes, in the cars, on the streets.. When I saw him first, it was pouring heavily and he stood put while not letting his usual welcoming smile fade even a bit, trying to spread the message of love to all those who are mere participants of a never ending race.
This made me realize that there are so many people around, but very few Humans.. And if there is someone who is trying to bring about the change by big or small means, why ignore or leave it unnoticed. Everyone should join the cause too.. Not necessarily stand with a board at a signal, but try and bring more love within and around rather than greed, selfishness, jealousy and hatred. Nature has made us with all of these emotions but not to forget, has also given us the power to eliminate them. We humans have evolved from apes, then why are we trying to not leave any stone unturned in order to go back to becoming apes.
